  • 2010: January. One-man retrospective show at Proud Gallery, Camden, London of portraits including the first public showing of a two metre wide, especially commissioned, portrait of David Hockney.

  • 2009: Preparation of show of new Orcadian paintings and photographic works to be shown jointly with a new composition by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies (Master of The Queen’s Music), premiering at the St. Magnus Festival on Orkney in June 2010.

  • 2008:  Works on digitising archive including shots of Jane Fonda as “Barbarella” for forthcoming show at Proud Gallery, central London.

  • 2007: One-man show of recent paintings at Track 16 Gallery, Bergamot Station, Santa Monica: “Hollywoodland” curated by Dennis Hopper.

  • 2005: Archive of Welsh landscape photographs acquired by The National Museum of Wales, Cardiff.

 

 

 

 

 

  • 2003: "City of The Angels" Recent painting of Los Angeles at Conningsby Gallery, Bloomsbury, in the heart of London's West End.

  • 2002: "Spirit of Place" Perspectives on Landscapes:  Stonehenge and other ancient British monuments, at The Workhouse Gallery in London's Kings Road, Chelsea. Watercolours and acrylics.

  • 2000: 'Hockney on Art: Conversations with Paul Joyce'   Book published by Little,Brown in the UK, and Time-Warner in the US.

  • 1998: Work shown at The Atrium, London Bridge in the 'Invitation' exhibition of invited artists from all over Europe and the UK. Exhibition at Le Petit Robert in the City of London. Photographs and paintings.

  • 1997: Work selected for Southwark Arts Festival:  ‘Regeneration’  exhibition sponsored by Price Waterhouse- paintings in the Stonehenge Series.

  • 1990-1997: 20 productions of arts documentaries for his company, Lucida Productions (commissions from Channel Four and the BBC).

  • 1990: ‘Delicious Solitude’ photographic exhibition at the Royal Festival Hall commissioned by The Arts Council of Great Britain, London (March/April) followed by UK and then European tour. (Work subsequently acquired by The Arts Council)

  • 1988: 'Hockney on Photography - Conversations with Paul Joyce'    
    Book published in the UK by Jonathan Cape and Random House in America.

  • 1986: Retrospective exhibition ‘My Landscapes’ at The Pentax Gallery in Tokyo followed by British Council sponsored lecture tour.

  • 1985: First book of photographs published  ' From Edge to Edge'  a  monograph of Welsh landscapes.

  • 1982: 'Presences of Nature' -  Exhibition  at Carlisle Art Gallery and book about The Lake District.

  • 1980: Work Included in 'British Art 1940-1980'  at The Hayward Gallery, London.
    Exhibits at The Witkin Gallery, New York in the ‘Young Contemporaries’ show

  • 1979-1982:'The British Journal of Photography’ publishes numerous articles and interviews with Paul as well as using his photographs as cover shots.'About 70 Photographs' published by The Arts Council. Book and exhibition. Exhibits in Group show in Sydney, Australia, organised by The British Council.

  • 1979: Work included in ‘The Native Land’ at the Mostyn Gallery, Llandudno. Exhibits at The Cultural Section of SICOF in Milan

  • 1978: One-man show at The National Portrait Gallery, London:  ‘Elders’.
    Entire show acquired by the Gallery.

 

 

Awards received from The Arts Council, Southern Arts Association and Greater London Arts Association.

One-man show opens at Diaframma Gallery, Milan.  Italian tour sponsored by The British Council.
